Limestone Mantel with Twisted Columns and Oval Cartouche

The most unusual silhouette in the collection. A heavy molded shelf caps a plain frieze broken at the centre by a carved oval cartouche, a beaded medallion wrapped in scrolled foliage around a small star. The jambs are a pair of freestanding spiral twisted columns with molded capitals and round bases, standing clear of the flat pilasters behind them. A broad stepped limestone hearth runs the full width. The stone is buff and grey with visible joints between every section. Suited to a living room, library, estate home or distinctive architectural project.
