Limestone Mantel with Serpentine Shelf and Shell Cartouche

A softly carved reclaimed limestone fireplace mantel with a serpentine shelf whose front edge follows the curve of the frieze below. At the centre of that arched frieze sits a shell and scroll cartouche, with the molding sweeping away from it down into curved jambs finished with small carved leaf drops at the knee. The cream limestone is smooth faced with gentle shading. Set between built in cabinetry in a traditional living room, it keeps the fireplace wall graceful. Suited to a living room, drawing room, bedroom or classic residential renovation.
