Limestone Mantel with Quatrefoil Tracery Frieze

A wide reclaimed limestone fireplace mantel carved across its full lintel with a run of quatrefoil tracery, each flower held inside a looping band and bordered above and below by fine moldings. The lintel is carried on shaped stone corbels, and a deep herringbone brick firebox is set behind it. The limestone is pale honey and lightly weathered, reading warm against the arcaded stone room it stands in. Glimpsed through pointed arches, the piece shows its scale. Suited to a loggia, great room, lodge, hotel lounge or substantial architectural renovation.
