Rustic Limestone Mantel with Foliate Console Corbels

A heavy reclaimed limestone fireplace mantel in warm biscuit tones, assembled from large blocks with every joint left visible. The shelf is a thick layered slab, and beneath a deep plain frieze two broad console corbels carved with worn foliate scrolls curve down to full height jambs that stand on the floor. The brick lined opening sits well back. Surface pitting, chipped corners and mineral staining run across the whole piece. Shown in a beamed dining room, it suits a dining room, great room, country house or hospitality interior wanting real mass.
